Be a Coach?

Although sometimes a demanding position, a Coaching position can be an extremely rewarding one and provides you with the ability to leave your mark on the success of the hockey education of each player. No experience is required for coaching in the Peanut and Pup Divisions, as courses and mentorships are available and excellent program material can be found from numerous sources including links on this web site. Developmental courses are also available for more experienced individuals looking to coach more advanced levels from Peewees to Juniors. Patience and good communication skills are an asset, and the ability to create fun for the players is a must! You'll be required to plan practice sessions and create game plans and be able to communicate your objectives with parents and the other team officials. Beside the coaching application required by the coach, Respect in Sport course and a Criminal Record Check are also required for the coach and all team officials.

*** ALL COACHES, ASSISTANT COACHES AND MANAGERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AND PROVIDE THEIR BC VACCINATION CARDS PRIOR TO DAY 1 OF THE SEASON.  NO VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE AROUND THE ARENAS WITHOUT THIS APPROVAL. ***

Respect in Sport

This program educates coaches and activity leaders to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination. It may be the single most important training leaders receive to assist in creating a safe, healthy and respectful environment for all participants.
